New Program Offer from Truterra, USDA, and American Plains Co-op
Jul 02, 2024
Beginning August 1st, American Plains Co-op growers in Kansas may be eligible to enroll in a USDA-backed program from Truterra. The 2024 Early Adopter program will include farm data collection and selected soil sampling, all of which will contribute to a publicly available study by the Soil Health Institute. The study is focusing on the impact of no-till or strip-till long-term on soils in Kansas, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, and Missouri.
This first-come, first-served program will offer limited acres across the states included in the study. Crop guidelines and tillage history have been set and requirements must be met, including the implementation of no-till or strip-till prior to 2015.
This is not a carbon program and can be stacked with other Truterra offers, so current long-term no-till or strip-till growers who are in carbon programs are encouraged to apply if they meet the requirements.
We have created an abbreviated Program Guide here.
You can view the Truterra Program Guide here.
Growers are encouraged to log in or sign up at Truterraag.com/enroll ahead of the August 1st date to get field information entered. This will set you up for a successful signup as acres in this program will go quickly!
